Day 9 and 10 Thingys

Day 9 is another pair of spiral polymer clay earrrings.  These are made with black and translucent clays along with silver leaf.

Day 10 is my first attempt at backfilling with polymer clay. The pendant was stamped with a rubber stamp, baked 30 minutes, then back filled with a contrasting color and then baked again.

Day 8 Thingy

Day 8 was a hurried creation.  These are polymer clay earrings made from the scraps from Day 7.

Day 6 and Day 7 Thingys

Day 6 brought on the desire to create earrings. I made a small mokume gane stack from Kato poly clay in Black and silver and added some silver leaf.

Day 7 is a combo of Mokume gane in translucent and silver leaf with alcohol inks.  The pendants were then topped with liquid clay.

Day 5 Thingy

Day_5

Day 5's thingy is part 1 of a metal and polymer clay pendant.  Today I used one of the molds from Day 1 to shape the metal clay.  Once dried, I fired and burnished it.  I will use this fine silver heart on a polymer clay pendant in the upcoming days.

Day 4 Thingy

Day 4 didn't get done until after 11pm.  For some reason, I couldn't think of anything.  so out came that Mokume gane stack from a few days ago. I made a few new pendants from it. They will go well with the bangel and cuff.

I'm at the end of that Mokume Gane stack, so you won't see any more pieces from it. Next week it'll be a different activity ;)

Day 2 Thingy

Day 2 started with a mokume gane stack made with Studio by Sculpey clay. I love the matte look and feel of this clay. It's just too soft for most other uses.

I decided to make a bangle from the slices. The core of the bangle is scrap clay covered with the mokume gane slices.

Day 1 Thingy

Day_1

I need some shallow molds for metal clay creations.  So I pulled out the old polymer clay scrap box and some 3D scrapbooking embellishments I had laying around.

Yep, there is a shoe...you shouldn't be surprised. And ohhhh...I see a bracelet using those cocktail molds, happening sometime soon

Test post prepping for Thing-a-day 2010

Cimg0112

So, I've been gearing up for thing-a-day cleaning and de-stashing the krapht room.  Hard to have a creative sprint in the midst of utter chaos.  Well, I'm just about done and took some time out to make some polymer clay pieces.
